The battle will be won on our knees. We must pray without ceasing for our family, leaders, the unsaved and for our country.
14Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. 15See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. 16Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:13-17)
Put before your people passionate godly examples and ask that they humbly allow God's Spirit to make them the same kind of example to all they meet and, especially, to their children. (See pdf below.)
Raising godly children begins with the parent's example. As a church follows the strategies to Church Arise "Mobilize" strategies already given, parents will be strengthened in their own faith and more inclined to strengthen their children's faith. Church leaders should take nothing for granted, though, they must emphasize that parents must intentionally teach their children, and that the church is only a partner with them in doing this.
It is advisable that leaders continue to include marriage seminars/sermon series and parenting series. It is also good if the children's department recommends home teaching resources. Focus on the family is a great resource https://www.focusonthefamily.com/parenting/
Mobilize Individuals to be Involved Good Citizens or your families may lose their children... (See pdf below.)
(Many churches have done this without facilitating disunity. Focus on issues your people can agree upon, for example: Few support allowing minors to go through sex change procedures - puberty blockers or surgeries.
1. Register them to Vote.
2. Partner with the Family Council for your state and local organizations (https://www.frc.org/state-policy-organizations )
3. Assign someone to keep up with important local and state issues and keep you informed. 4. Have a table/website link which will have voter registration forms, keep them informed about elections, runoff elections and issues that they need to vote on to protect children, parental rights, freedom of speech, community safety, etc. (Actually, recruit someone to run the table, and keep you informed, so people can be informed during the announcements.)
5. Urge people to research issues and candidates to be sure they will support family values.
6. Encourage other church leaders you know to do the same.
*In a neighboring community a “Defund the Police” politician was voted in during a local runoff election by only 400 votes! Most local Christians just were not aware the runoff was even taking place.
