The Growth Track (FREE)
A 4-week course for people wanting to find out more about your church, developed and made available to church leaders who joins their site, www.growleader.com/join .
To find the Growth Track materials, I had to click on “Resources” and search for “Growth Track,” but I’m sure there’s another way to get there. When you get to the Highlands site, you will be like a kid in a candy store. Try not to get distracted, by all the resources available to you. Right now, you just want to look at one thing…the “Growth Track.” (Be sure you come back to our Upward Living site. We can help you stay focused and guide you in keeping it simple.)
The format/materials developed by Highlands Church, Birmingham, Alabama includes: Four 15-50 minute talking head videos which deal with the topics: Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose, Make a difference. On their site you are allowed to download their video scripts and teacher/student materials, so you can customize them for your own church.
Know God - Emphasizes the importance of knowing God as the foundation to the whole of life. Contains a clear and brief presentation of the Gospel, an overview of what will be covered over the next several weeks, and the difference between religion and relationship, etc. Noteworthy items are: 1. A host shows the video and leads the class. 2. The video speaker tells the participants that the first class will end with an ACTION STEP – WATER BAPTISM. (The video speaker tells the participants that everything needed for baptism is provided – clothing, towels, deodorant, etc.) 3. The video speaker tells the participants that the host will be available to immediately sign them up for a “Christian Essentials” (New Believers) small group.
Find Freedom – A discussion of the small group ministry, which includes the Foundations 101 groups, Celebrate Recovery, Divorce Recovery, Parenting, Marriage Studies, Prayer, Bible Studies, etc.
Discover Purpose – Essentially a compressed version of our “Discovering You” class.
Make a Difference – Essentially the presentation of ministry opportunities inside the church and encouragement for them to minister, daily, outside the church (workplace, family, community, neighborhood, etc.).
