Mobilize Believers to Share their faith
Emphasis Over and Over
Be constantly emphasizing that ALL believers are to "Go and Tell" the Gospel message (personal evangelism) instead of only asking them to "Come and bring" people to the service, or special events. (See pdf at bottom for more details and helpful information.)
Teach them about One-Verse-Evangelism
"One-Verse Evangelism is a simple, interactive way to share Christ's love conversationally and visually. It is based on asking questions and sharing truth simply. It's easy to learn because it uses just one verse. One-Verse Evangelism can be shared in just 10 or 15 minutes, but can have impact for a lifetime." Assign Them to Write Out a Short Version of Their Testimony
Provide them with a sample short version of a testimony, some guidelines and ask them to write out their testimony, this week and share it with family and friends, after asking permission. (A great way to share your testimony is to say, "Can I tell you what happened to me?..." ) Again, the FREE COURSE, "Knowing God..." has guidelines on how to write out your testimony.
Assign Them to Further Shorten Their Testimony and Make a Written Form to Pass Out
Ask them to include their picture, a Scripture, and their concise testimony, and the church website on a business card sized tract, which they can share with people they meet throughout the day. A great way to ask permission to share the tract is to say, "Can I share a word of encouragement with you?.....God loves you and has an amazing plan for your life. Here's my story of what He did for me." (Hand them your tract.)
Have Church Believers Share their "Sharing the Gospel" Success Stories
Regularly allow believers to share the positive results of sharing their testimony with others. This will keep others encouraged to do the same.
